Description

Overview
X‑ray anti‑scatter grids are accessories for radiographic and fluoroscopic systems that reduce scattered radiation to improve image contrast and diagnostic clarity. Newheek supplies circular grids for image intensifiers and rectangular handled grids for portable and fluoroscopy equipment, with customizable dimensions and parameters suited to medical and veterinary imaging.

Circular X‑ray Grids for Image Intensifiers
  • Ø242 mm — Grid ratios 8:1, 10:1, 12:1; Focal distance (F.D.) 0.7–1.8 m (optional); for 9‑inch image intensifier
  • Ø266 mm — Grid ratios 8:1, 10:1, 12:1; F.D. 0.7–1.8 m (optional); for 12‑inch image intensifier

Rectangular X‑ray Grid with Hollow Handle
  • 498.5 × 449 mm (example) — Grid ratios 8:1, 10:1, 12:1; F.D. 0.7–1.8 m (optional); special customizable inch grid equipped with a hollow handle for safe, ergonomic handling in the field

Working Principle
Primary X‑rays pass through the patient while scattered photons deviate and degrade image contrast. The grid is composed of lead absorber strips and an interspace filler: primary rays travel through the interspaces and reach the detector, while oblique scattered rays are absorbed by the lead strips. By attenuating scatter, the grid enhances edge definition and diagnostic visibility on film, flat panels or intensifier systems.

Customization Options
  • Grid densities: 40 L/cm (103 L/in)
  • 52 L/cm (132 L/in)
  • 60 L/cm (152 L/in)

Application & Benefits
  • Improves radiographic and fluoroscopic image contrast by suppressing scatter
  • Circular sizes matched to 9″ and 12″ image intensifiers for optimal alignment
  • Handled rectangular design for mobile units and field use
  • Multiple grid ratios and focal distances to suit clinical protocols
  • Custom sizes and specifications available on request
  • Compatible with image intensifiers, film cassettes and digital flat panel detectors

Summary
Newheek circular and hollow‑handled rectangular anti‑scatter grids provide adaptable options for fluoroscopy, mobile radiography and special imaging equipment. Configurable grid ratio, density and focal distance enable optimized contrast management for clinical and veterinary X‑ray diagnostics.
