It can measure airway resistance, lung compliance, FEV, FVC, FEV0.1/FVC, FEV0.2/FVC, FEF, FRC, EF50, and other indicators. It can be used on mice, rats, guinea pigs, and other animals; other sizes for larger animals can be customized according to customers’ requirements. During the experiment, the animal needs to be anesthetized and subjected to tracheotomy. The system has a built-in ventilator, which can automatically control the animals’ breathing patterns and coordinate with the lung function test in different modes. The PFT system is widely used in preclinical studies of COPD, pulmonary interstitial disease, pneumonia, pulmonary fibrosis, and other diseases, drug evaluation in respiratory pharmacology research, and general pharmacology research. According to Boyle’s law, direct physical indicators such as pressure difference between the main airway and bronchi, pleural pressure (transpulmonary pressure), and airflow velocity in the airway are used to determine airway resistance and lung compliance.
