Description

Overview
The MultiNA II MCE-301 is a microchip electrophoresis system for automated DNA/RNA quality control. It replaces manual electrophoresis workflows with an automated, digital QC step that delivers reliable integrity metrics, uses reusable microchips, and reduces hands-on time, late QC failures and running costs.

Key Benefits
  • Reliable sample quality Automated microchip electrophoresis, RNA Integrity Index (RII) and High-Sensitivity kit for dependable DNA/RNA quality
  • Simple and intuitive to use Intuitive software, guided workflow, removable racks and automatic sample dilution to reduce manual steps and errors
  • Smart and sustainable QC Reusable chips, lower energy and purified water consumption to save costs and resources

Simple and Smart Workflow
Designed for efficient, reliable analysis using simple operations. Intuitive software provides guided procedures for automatic analysis and increases laboratory productivity.

Workflow Steps
  • STEP 1 — Reliability Register analysis schedules; removable sample racks allow sample registration while racks are handled outside the instrument; schedules can be saved, imported and exported
  • STEP 2 — Operating Efficiency Place samples and reagents in tray, insert tray into system and start analysis
  • STEP 3 — Operating Efficiency System performs all steps automatically from dispensing samples to rinsing microchip; data displayed successively for immediate result checking

Novel Functionality
  • Automated sample dilution System can automatically dilute samples 5×, 10× or 20× to bring concentration within quantifiable range (dilution supported for up to 48 samples; dispensing tubes required separately)
  • Adding samples during analysis Analysis can be paused to add up to 120 samples during a run
  • Changing gel image order Gel images can be rearranged independently of sample analysis order
  • Comparison/analysis of past data Past data (including data from previous MultiNA model MCE-202) can be loaded and displayed next to current data for comparison (some reagent kits may not support legacy data analysis)

Enhanced Analysis Functions
  • RNA — RNA Integrity Index (RII) MultiNA II calculates RII values; correlation to other systems shows R2 ≥ 0.95
  • mRNA analysis / purity Demonstrated detection of EPO mRNA in mixtures; supports purity analysis
  • DNA — DNA fingerprinting analysis Presence/absence of DNA fragments determined automatically; grouped listing of results
  • NGS library QC Smear analysis calculates average size and concentration; with High-Sensitivity kit can evaluate libraries down to ~5 pg/µL
  • High-Sensitivity kit Enables evaluation of low-concentration libraries

User-Friendly Design
Intuitive data analysis software (size prediction display, electropherogram overlays, red line size guides). Removable sample rack holds up to 96 plates. Two reagent kit types may be loaded in mixed arrangement.

Analytical Intelligence & Genotyping / Genome Editing Support
Grouping analysis and molar concentration ratio analysis support screening of genome-edited samples. Detection and grouping of mutation types from heteroduplex mobility assay (HMA) results; molar ratio analysis supports HMA, Cel-I, PCR-RFLP and similar assays.

ECO Functions — Energy & Water Savings
Lower power consumption (~30% reduction vs previous model) and reduced purified water usage for rinsing (<60% of previous model). Smaller footprint (~15% reduction) and reduced height (~27% shorter with door open) lower running costs and environmental impact.

Operation & Reliability
Automatic calibration curves and internal standard reagent enable automatic prediction of sizes and concentrations for objective numeric results. Analysis can be started after ~10 minutes of preparation; fully automatic operation shortens operator time and supports overnight analysis.
