Description

Product overview
  • The Gold AQ Plus blood glucose monitoring system is intended for the quantitative measurement of glucose in human whole blood obtained from the fingertip (capillary), from a vein (venous) or from an artery (arterial). It is intended for use by people with diabetes at home or in clinical settings to assist in monitoring the effectiveness of diabetes management programs.


Test principle
  • Glucose measurement is based on the electrical current generated by the reaction of glucose with FAD glucose dehydrogenase at the strip electrode. The blood or control solution is drawn into the tip of the test strip by capillary action. Glucose reacts with FAD glucose dehydrogenase, generating electrons that produce an electrical current. The Gold AQ Plus meter measures this current and calculates the glucose result, which is displayed in mg/dL or mmol/L.


Gold AQ Plus test strip
  • The Gold AQ Plus test strip is designed for use with the Gold AQ Plus meter to measure glucose in fresh capillary whole blood or venous or arterial blood. The test strip, when used with the meter, provides a complete test system intended for in vitro diagnostic use by people with diabetes. The Gold AQ Plus test strip requires no coding.


Results and use
  • Results are displayed on the meter in mg/dL or mmol/L depending on meter settings. Compatible sample types: capillary (fingerstick), venous and arterial whole blood. Follow local regulations and clinical guidance when using results in a care pathway.
