All apricot pipette tips are produced to the same high-quality standard:
Manufactured at an ISO13485-certified factory
Produced from USP class VI virgin polypropylene
Available in 'standard', 'sterile', and 'filtered sterile' variants for all tip geometries
Filters made from ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE)
Collars made from polypropylene
Simple loading with EZ-load tips
EZ-load tips use a proprietary sealing mechanism to create an airtight seal between the tip and pipetting core. Conventional pipette tips rely on either an O-ring coupling or deformation coupling between the tip and a pipette shaft. By contrast, EZ-load tips achieve a robust and reliable seal by clamping the tip head flange directly against an elastomer mat at the bottom of the core. Tips are conveniently arrayed in plastic collars for easy handling and insertion into the head.
The EZ-load tip technology has several key advantages:
low, even tip load force
no risk of O-ring degradation/failure
fixed angle of tip engagement
fixed tip length
no space taken up on deck positions by tip boxes
Full tip arrays
Use 24/96/384-channel (full-head) tip arrays to carry out simultaneous transfers of samples between plates, e.g. to copy or stamp samples. All liquid transfers in the tip array are identical, carrying the same transfer volume and making use the same piston speeds.
Full tip arrays are therefore an ideal tool to achieve accurate and repeatable pipetting results for large numbers of samples. Note that 24-channel arrays are labelled "offset" (OS) because they couple to an offset of channels on the 96-channel core.
