Durable, long life subsea acceleration and tilt data logger with rechargeable battery. Fast sampling and response. Shallow to deep ocean.
For monitoring behaviour, movements and orientation of subsea gear, cables and underwater vehicles. Suitable for short-term fast sampling or long-term research on a single charge.
Key features
Fast sampling and response
Robust, durable and accurate
Long lasting rechargeable battery
Easy to attach to gear
Shallow to deep ocean
Fast Sampling and Response
Starmon Tilt can record tilt-acceleration and depth in burst mode at up to 100 measurements per second (100 Hz) and for all sensors at up to 20 measurements per second (20 Hz). Different sampling intervals can be set up within the research period. The temperature sensor has a fast response of 2 seconds.
Application
The Starmon Tilt is applicable for both short and long-term research:
Movements and orientation of fishing gear like trawls and dredges during surveys
Pitch and roll of underwater robots and vehicles (AUV, ROV)
Inclination monitoring of submersible acoustic receivers and mooring lines due to changes in wind and waves
Analysing shape of geothermal wells or boreholes
Vibration of subsea cables, recording bursts of acceleration data
Long Lasting Rechargeable Battery
Depending on interval setup, the rechargeable battery can last several years on a single charge. At an interval of 1 min it can last more than 5 years on a single charge. At 1 sec. interval a single charge lasts at least one month. The logger can be recharged 500 times before having to replace the battery. The software has an energy and memory calculator.
