VARIXIO® Pod Low N2 by VB Devices is a sterile, single-use mixing capsule designed for use with the VARIXIO® Pro Mag automated microfoam preparation system. The Pods are pre-filled with a low-nitrogen physiological gas mixture.
Designed specifically for cases requiring larger injection volumes—such as extensive saphenous vein treatments, complex venous malformations, and patients with Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) risk—low-nitrogen microfoam minimizes nitrogen-related gas embolic risks while guaranteeing sterile, reproducible foam quality every time.

1. Enhanced Safety with Low-Nitrogen Physiological Gas
Standard ambient air contains approximately 78% nitrogen (N2), which dissolves slowly in blood and increases the risk of symptomatic gas emboli (visual disturbances, chest tightness, or neurological events), particularly during high-volume sclerosant injections or in patients with a known or suspected PFO. VARIXIO® Pod Low N2 overcomes this limitation by incorporating a low-nitrogen gas mix (O2/CO2/2-10% N2).
