Overview / Origins
Wearable devices using PPG (photoplethysmography) for non‑invasive heart‑rate measurement are essential to modern healthcare monitoring. Traditional verification checked only LED/detector function and could not reproduce realistic PPG signals for algorithm validation. The HRS200 generates green‑light PPG signals with adjustable parameters (BPM, DC to represent skin tone reflectance, AC for arterial volume variation, and PI) so engineers can perform repeatable performance and accuracy tests on wearable heart‑rate functions. The unit also overlays electrical noise (50 Hz / 60 Hz and white noise) and can play back raw or clinically recorded PPG waveforms to reproduce clinical or user‑defined signals for full signal‑processing verification.
