ROBERT RIELE GmbH & Co KG is manufacturer of optical devices based in Berlin.

RIELE is engaged in the development, production and distribution of photometers. These are analytical instruments which are mainly used in clinical chemistry, but also in food and water analysis.

RIELE was founded in Berlin-Mitte on 26 March 1946 as a wholesale trade for hospital and laboratory facilities by Robert Riele and his nephew Otto Riele. Due to the critical political situation between East and West, in 1949 RIELE moves to West-Berlin, Hermsdorf, Kurfürstenstraße 75-79, where in 1952 the first RIELE photometers are manufactured.

After the death of Robert Riele in 1971, Otto Riele’s son, Wolfgang Riele, enters the company as a limited partner. As of 19 October 1976, the company continues as ROBERT RIELE GmbH & Co KG. Since 1 January 1977 Dipl.-Ing. Wolfgang Riele is Managing Director, supported by his wife, Dipl.- Kff. Isabel Riele, as registered manager. Since 5 July 2017 also his daughter, Dr. Linda Riele and his son, Lorenz Riele, officially supported him as limited partners. In 2019 the successful management transition to the 3rd generation took place.

Today, RIELE sells its products worldwide in more than 40 countries, mainly non-OECD countries, such as Indonesia, India, China, Egypt, Libya and Syria.

Since 1997 RIELE maintains a certified quality management system, currently according to DIN EN ISO 13485 (medical products) and work in compliance with the regulation (EU) 2017/746 on in vitro diagnostic medical devices (IVDR), meeting international medical device quality standards.
