Who we are
Smart Respiratory Products Ltd was founded in 2014 in order to develop an innovative medial device specifically for patients with Asthma. The concept behind the invention was to accuratly measure Peak Flow using peak flow meter connected directly to any smart phone device via a smart phone app. The company are based at the new, state of artfacility located at: White City, Imperial College, Lodon Innovation Hub, where all of the design, marketing and sales functions are carried out. The concept for the device is to offer vastly improved asthma as a result of convenient peak flow measurements, AI prediction and remote patient monitoring with the patients doctor. We are collaboraing with multiple respiratory centres of excellence to proove the efficacy of the device compared to traditional mechanical peak flow products.

Product
Smart Respiratory Products Ltd, have developed an innovative Peak Flow Meter to measure peak expiratory flow (PEF) by tracking the degree of respiratory conditions in patients with asthma using bluetooth to a smart phone. The product comes with a free application which can be downloaded using ios or android software. Once the software has been installed into the patients smartphone a simple set-up process enables the customer to measure their peak flow. All the measurements are recorded on the smartphone and are 100% accurate.
Technology
When the Smart Peak flow is connected directly to the smartphone via bluetooth the patient blows into the device. A small turbine rotates, thus producing an electronic signal which is interpreted by the Smart Peak Flow app to record the results. This innovative, affordable, small, portable, and easy to use electronic PEF meter assists in evaluating respiratory conditions is now available for purchase. Compared with conventional products this device can easily plug, directly into an audio jack or bluetooth on any smartphone.
Rational
The reasoning behind the device is to allow patients to accurately measure and record their peak flow which assists them in controlling their asthma condition. The Smart Peak Flow offers several advantages including the ability to record peak flow, and to store and transfer data to a physician or other licensed healthcare professional. Other advantages are the AI Prediction of peak flow, reminders and peak flow explanations. An up and coming feature is the remote patient monitoring console for health care professionals, which allows health care professionals to view the patients condition without a physical visit.
Having a device like the Smart Peak Flow meter gives the patient peace of mind that their asthma condition is being constantly monitored and any changes in their condition can be dealt with in the appropriate manner.
