Product Overview:The DST CTD Data Storage Tag is the smallest CTD (Conductivity, Temperature, Depth) data logger on the market, designed for long-term tagging studies of fish and marine animals. It measures and records salinity, temperature, and depth, with a compact size of only 50 mm in length and 15 mm in diameter. The device is user-programmable, allowing flexible sampling intervals, and displays collected data in both graphical and tabular formats with time stamps for each measurement. The tag is externally attached to the animal due to its salinity sensor, which consists of two conductivity cells. For mooring or subsea gear applications, a different model is recommended. Salinity and Conductivity:The DST CTD can capture conductivity from 2 to 68 mS/cm, with a low range option of 0.1–6 mS/cm, ideal for brackish water measurements. Depth Measurement:The tag can be calibrated for depths up to 2,400 meters (tolerance up to 2,500 meters), with options for shallower ranges. Attachment and Recapture:A tag holder kit is available for easier and safer external attachment. Custom text can be added to the housing for recapture and data return purposes. Ease of Use:The logger is supported by SeaStar software and a Communication Box (required for first order). Programming is done via USB connection to a PC, allowing the user to set start time, date, and sampling intervals. The logger supports single or multiple interval sampling (up to 7 different intervals). Memory and battery life calculations are automated in the software. After recapture, data is uploaded to the software for analysis and export.
