LibreLinkUp is a mobile application that enables family members, friends and caregivers to remotely monitor and support people who are using a FreeStyle Libre sensor and the FreeStyle Libre app. The app provides shared glucose data viewing, notifications and optional glucose alarms to support remote care workflows.

How it works

• Step 1: A FreeStyle Libre sensor user (Connection) invites a caregiver via Connected Apps in their FreeStyle Libre app to share glucose data.
• Step 2: The caregiver downloads the LibreLinkUp app, signs in, and accepts the invitation.
• Step 3: The caregiver can view the Connection's glucose information and receive notifications and glucose alarms (when enabled and supported by the sensor and apps).

Notes, compatibility and limitations

• Requires use of a compatible FreeStyle Libre System Sensor.
• LibreLinkUp and FreeStyle Libre-compatible apps may require registration with LibreView for data sharing and storage.
• LibreLinkUp is not intended to be a primary glucose monitoring device: clinical decisions or therapy adjustments should be based on the patient's primary device(s) and healthcare professional guidance.
• A finger‑stick blood glucose test is required during rapidly changing glucose levels, when interstitial glucose may not accurately reflect blood glucose, or when symptoms do not match app readings.
• Sensor communication depends on the FreeStyle Libre reader or the FreeStyle LibreLink app that started the sensor; a sensor started by a reader will also communicate with the FreeStyle LibreLink app.
• Transfer of glucose data and delivery of shared alarms depends on internet connectivity for both the Connection and the LibreLinkUp user; alarms are delivered only if enabled in the relevant apps and internet access is available.
• Not all mobile apps, features or devices are available in all regions; compatibility varies by device and operating system.
