Description

Overview
Ceramic-filled hybrid material for 3D printing of permanent dental restorations.

Advantages for the laboratory
  • Dedicated printing and processing parameters ensure accurate fit and reproducible production sequences
  • Chemical and mechanical properties adapted to dental applications
  • Versatile indications: single crowns on natural teeth, inlays, onlays, veneers and veneering on metal frameworks
  • Printed restorations can be adjusted or repaired extraorally; reprinting is possible due to low material costs
  • Minimized resin sedimentation for easy handling; no mixing or shaking required during regular use
  • Easy to grind and polish with standard dental instruments
  • Available in seven VITA classical shades (A1, A2, A3, B1, B3, C2, D3) plus BEGO Bleach shade
  • FDA 510(k) cleared and meets requirements for a Class II medical device
  • Full integration into digital workflows with low material cost for efficient supply options
  • Validated on multiple 3D printers from established manufacturers

Advantages for the practitioners
  • Chemical and mechanical properties adapted to dental applications
  • Easy to grind and polish with customary clinical tools
  • FDA 510(k) cleared and meets requirements for a Class II medical device
  • Integration into digital workflows and low material cost enable fast supply with favorable cost-effectiveness
  • High bond strength with commercially available luting agents, supported by scientific data
  • Clear radiographic visibility of restorations printed with VarseoSmile® Crown plus
  • Secure fixation in the patient’s mouth with minimal preparation of contact surfaces
  • Extensive scientific studies confirm the properties of restorations made with VarseoSmile® Crown plus

Advantages for the patient
  • Aesthetic balance of opacity and translucency for natural appearance
  • Fluorescence similar to natural tooth structure
  • Low discoloration and aging tendency due to very low water absorption
  • Low plaque accumulation supported by smooth surface finish
  • Reduced thermal sensitivity for improved comfort
  • Antagonist-friendly material with mechanical buffering effect—suitable for crowns
  • Reduced risk of secondary caries because of high adhesive bond with luting composites
  • Certified biocompatibility

Indication range
Used for 3D printing of permanent restorations including single crowns, partial crowns, inlays, onlays, tabletops and veneers in anterior and posterior regions, including occlusal surfaces.

Light-curing / Individualization
Final polymerization can be performed with BEGO Otoflash (two xenon stroboscopic lamps, 10 Hz, spectrum 300–700 nm) or with HiLite Power (one xenon stroboscopic lamp, 20 Hz, spectrum 390–540 nm). Finalized restorations can be individualized with commercially available veneering composites and stains; follow the material manufacturer's instructions for use.

Required light-curing time (selected)
BEGO Otoflash (with protective gas): 2 × 1,500 flashes (rotate object between exposures)
HiLite Power: 2 × 90 seconds (rotate object between exposures)

Preparation
  • Preparation boundaries must be clearly visible
  • Minimum wall thickness: 1 mm
  • Chamfer or step preparation recommended
  • Anatomically reduced preparation recommended; avoid sharp angles or edges to prevent stress concentrations

Luting
Permanent restorations can be cemented with commercially available self-adhesive cements or composite cements used with a primer. Observe the instructions for use of the selected luting agent.
