Product overviewThe WAM-400 Waste Assay Monitor is a tomographic gamma scanner (TGS) designed for the quantitative and qualitative tomographic characterization of radioactive waste contained in drums. The system evaluates activity and material density distributions and can be configured to meet specific customer handling and measurement requirements.
Applications- Nuclear facilities
- Waste management
Key Features- Monitor configurable to customer requirements
- Tomographic analysis of activity and material density distribution in the drum
- Peak attenuation correction
- Integrated drum weighing
- Optional Fast-Scan function
- Detector available with optional adjustable collimator
- Measurement of material density inside the waste drum
- Integrated control software
DescriptionThe WAM-400 monitors perform quantitative and qualitative characterization of radioactive waste stored in drums with overall activity from 100 kBq to 30 TBq (example range for Cs-137). As a tomographic gamma scanner (TGS), the WAM-400 reconstructs the spatial distribution of radioactivity and material density across all drum regions. The system architecture allows customization for different drum sizes, waste types, activity ranges and handling constraints.
