Short descriptionThe WAM-300 is a waste assay monitor equipped with a sealed transmission radionuclide source for quantitative and qualitative characterization of radioactive waste in drums. It supports Cs-137 activity measurements from 3 kBq to 1 TBq per drum and can be configured for free-release screening.
Key Features- Monitor configuration tailored to customer requirements
- Division of measured waste drum into volume segments for localized analysis
- Spectrometric analysis performed for each volume segment
- Peak attenuation correction for improved accuracy
- Integrated drum weighing system
- Measurement of material density inside the drum
- Optional Fast-Scan measurement mode for accelerated surveys
- Detector available with optional adjustable collimator
- Integrated control software for operation and data analysis
DescriptionThe WAM-300 series is designed for quantitative and qualitative characterization of radioactive wastes deposited in standard waste drums. For Cs-137 the intended overall activity measurement range is from 3 kBq up to 1 TBq per drum. The system uses a sealed transmission radionuclide source to correct for non-homogeneous material distribution within the drum; Eu-152 is standard, with Se-75 or other nuclides available on request. The monitor can be customized for different drum types and sizes, activity ranges and handling workflows, enabling reliable drum-by-drum characterization and optional free-release measurements.
