DESCRIPTION Material for Root Canal Disinfection. CHLOREXORAL is a product whose active ingredient is chlorhexidine digluconate. Chlorhexidine when in low concentrations (0.12%) is a bacteriostatic agent and in high concentration (2%) it becomes a fast bactericidal agent. Chlorhexidine acts through the electrostatic interaction of its positive and negative charges on the bacterial cell wall, causing its rupture, precipitating the cytoplasm and causing the death of the bacteria. It has low toxicity and does not damage the periapical tissues.
