Description

Product description
G-418 (Geneticin) is an aminoglycoside antibiotic used as a selection agent for prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells in research. Resistance is conferred by specific resistance genes naturally present in some bacterial strains or introduced by transfection in eukaryotic cells.

Applications
  • Cell culture and laboratory research
  • Selection and maintenance of genetically modified cell lines

Recommended concentrations
  • Optimal concentration for selection and maintenance must be determined for each cell line
  • Bacteria and algae: 5 µg/ml
  • Mammalian eukaryotic cells: 400 µg/ml for selection; 200 µg/ml for maintenance

Available volumes
  • 20 ml (SKU: L0015 - 20)
  • 100 ml (SKU: L0015 - 100)
