Description

Product overview

  • Custom-made knee offloader orthosis designed for active patients with unicompartmental osteoarthritis and optional associated ligament instability.
  • Ultralight composite/carbon frame (approx. 650 g) adapted to each patient’s varus/valgus alignment.


Indications

  • Unicompartmental gonarthrosis (moderate to severe).
  • Gonarthrosis grade 3–4, pain reduction and extension of walking distance.

  • DonJoy DEFIANCE® OA model with patented 4-Point Support system to control ligamentous instability.
  • 3-Point offload concept to redistribute load away from the affected compartment to the healthy compartment.
  • Optional Floam™ condyle pad for improved conformity and wearer comfort.
  • Available in multiple lengths and colours.


Adjustability and range of motion

  • Correction adjustable from 1° to 7° (average 3°); patient-adjustable on the adjustable model.
  • Additional telescopic condyle adjustment provides up to 3° extra correction on demand.
  • Extension stops: 0°, 10°, 20°, 30°, 40° (preset to 10°).
  • Flexion stops: 45°, 60°, 75°, 90°.


Measurement & fitting

  • Measured using the CCMI Mark III gauge or by positive resin cast / AOP file.
  • Custom manufacturing ensures adaptation to the patient’s anatomy and alignment.


Materials & options

  • High-strength carbon composite frame: lightweight and compact.
  • Strap configurations available for ACL, PCL or collateral ligament support.
  • Optional gel or Floam™ condyle cushions and various colour finishes.


Prescription & ordering

  • DonJoy DEFIANCE® OA custom knee orthosis—specify compartment (medial/lateral), desired correction, ROM stops and strap configuration.
  • Measurements: CCMI Mark III or positive knee cast in weight-bearing position.
