Description

Overview
KitLab combines fast user setup, easy handling and elimination of operating errors, allowing more time to stay focused on other work. The use of defined tools for each kit and a reproducible process make KitLab a reliable system. The system is available for the formulation of registered kits Illuccix® , Locametz® , SomaKit TOC® and NETSPOT® and can be used for radiosynthesis of 68Ga-HBED-PSMA without kits.

Key Features
  • Reduced Radiation Exposure (ALARA)
  • Compliance with kit registration guidelines
  • Stand-Alone Device - no PC or EC necessary
  • Automation of kit formulation processes
  • Minimized Footprint to save lab space
  • Pre-Elution Function for delayed start

Background
The growing availability of ready-to-use cold kits increases the potential for manual handling errors and the risk of high radiation exposure to the operator. KitLab provides an automated solution to improve reproducibility of results, protect users from unnecessary exposure and to facilitate synthesis and formulation through defined tools, fast setup and easy handling.

Functionality
After connecting the KitLab device to the standard socket outlet, placing the RFID card and inserting the cassette, the system is ready for use. KitLab uses a peristaltic pump with four independently programmable channels for liquid transfer. The device can perform automated handling of registered kits and supports scheduled delayed start with automatic pre-elution.

Easy data management and storage
Cassettes are delivered with an RFID card containing important information for the batch report. Data are gathered via the RFID card reader and an optional barcode scanner and stored on the device. Batch data can be printed via an optional label printer, stored on the internal SD card and additionally on the cassette-specific RFID card for GMP-compliant storage and traceability.

Small, sterile and double packed cassettes
All cassettes are assembled under GMP-compliant clean room conditions and sterilized with gamma radiation. Depending on the application they are supplied with needle-free connections, color coding or V-vials and include the necessary consumables to prevent incorrect use and to facilitate preparation.

Features at a glance
  • User-friendly application selection via RFID card
  • Stand-alone device; no PC or EC needed
  • Very small footprint
  • Radiation protection – reduction of radiation exposure to the operator (ALARA)
  • Handling according to registration guidelines, IFU, SmPC
  • Automated, sterile QC sampling and sterile filtration (optional)
  • Pre-elution function; delayed start
  • Automated/controlled elution of generator
  • Recording/calculation of remaining generator activity
  • Easy and fail-free insertion of cassette

Adaptable and upgradeable for future use
The KitLab system is intended for the formulation of licensed PET kits and designed to be adaptable and upgradeable for future applications.

Customizable setup
Programming of KitLab is provided by Eckert & Ziegler and can be adapted for special applications; modular options such as a Peristaltic Pump Module are available to extend liquid transfer capabilities.
