Product overviewThe CK-MB Rapid Test Device (Whole Blood/Serum/Plasma) is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of human CK-MB in whole blood, serum or plasma as an aid in the diagnosis of myocardial infarction (MI).
PrincipleThe CK-MB Rapid Test Device is a qualitative, membrane-based immunoassay. The membrane is pre-coated with capture reagent on the test line region. During testing, the specimen reacts with particles coated with anti-CK-MB antibodies. The mixture migrates upward on the membrane by capillary action to react with capture reagent on the membrane and generate a colored line. The presence of a colored line in the test line region indicates a positive result; its absence indicates a negative result. A colored line will always appear in the control line region as a procedural control indicating that proper specimen volume has been added and membrane wicking has occurred.
