Description

Overview
Labotemp Sand Dust Test Chamber SDC-04 provides a controlled environment to evaluate product resistance to airborne sand and dust under simulated field conditions. The chamber offers a 1000 L stainless steel workspace, temperature range from ambient to +50°C, humidity below 30% RH, and programmable blowing and test durations up to 99 h 59 min. It is configured for IP5X and IP6X dust ingress testing per IEC 60529 and ISO 20653, making it suitable for electronics, automotive components, lighting, military equipment and industrial assemblies. A programmable color LCD touch-screen controller with Ethernet and USB connectivity and a 16 A dust-proof specimen power outlet support efficient test management.

Operation & Design Details
The SDC-04 uses vertical airflow circulation combined with a vibration-assisted hopper to maintain uniform dust suspension and prevent powder accumulation, ensuring repeatable test conditions. A Nichrome heater keeps circulating talcum powder dry for stable performance. The integrated vacuum system with pressure gauge, regulator and air filter accurately simulates dust ingress. Interior surfaces are corrosion-resistant SUS304 stainless steel; the exterior is A3 steel with protective coating. Multiple safety protections (over-temperature, over-current, earth leakage and phase-sequence protection), a 7-inch programmable touch-screen, built-in LED observation lighting, viewing window and electromagnetic door lock simplify operation and enhance safety.
