Description

Overview
The C401H Oxygen and Water Vapor Transmission Test System integrates a coulometric oxygen sensor and an infrared water vapor sensor to measure OTR and WVTR of medium- and high-barrier materials. Designed to meet standards such as ASTM D3985, ASTM F1249 and ISO 15106-2, it is suitable for films, packaging and sheets used in pharmaceuticals, food, medical devices, chemicals, photovoltaics and electronics.

Testing principle
The pretreated sample is clamped between two chambers. Oxygen or carrier gas with stable humidity flows on one side and high-purity nitrogen on the other. Molecules diffusing through the sample are carried to the sensor by the nitrogen flow. Sensor concentration data are analyzed to calculate OTR, WVTR and related results.
