Themy is an automatic, disposable device equipped with a sequential advancement system of cannula and stylet. ​The device is lightweight and offers a spring-loaded trigger that allows for easy penetration of fibrous or calcified lesions. Themy is equipped with an AISI 304 staineless steel cannula with "Menghini" sharpening that allows for atraumatic biopsies. The cannula also has centimeter markings that help the user easily determine penetration depth. ​Themy has two sequential triggers - one in front and one in the back, allowing the user two different handling positions. "A mode" releases the cannula and stylet in rapid sequence and captures the tissue sample simultaneously. "D mode" releases the stylet and allows the user to check the position of the tip via ultrasound before releasing the cannula by pushing the button until point A. ​The notch in the Themy needle is 20 mm long, but can also be provided at 10 mm (Themy S). The stylet has a triple ultra-sharp tip to easily penetrate fibrous tissues. Needle size with international color code is stamped on the hub of the needle and on the primary packaging.
