Aural Ventilation Tubes – T-Tubes / Tympanostomy Tubes / Ear Grommets Product Description The Medasil Aural Ventilation Tubes, also referred to as Tympanostomy Tubes, Ear Tubes, Grommets, or T-Tubes, are precision-manufactured from high-quality fluoroplastic or medical-grade silicone elastomer. These biocompatible ventilation tubes are latex-free and phthalate-free, designed to ensure long-term safety and patient comfort. Available in four established designs (Shah, Shepard, Mini-Shah, and T-Tube), the tubes are engineered to meet clinical preferences and surgical requirements in the management of Otitis Media with Effusion (OME/Glue Ear) and related middle ear conditions. The smooth contours of each tympanostomy tube provide atraumatic placement and enhanced patient tolerance, while the distinct white or blue color offers excellent contrast against natural ear tissue, improving surgical visibility. T-Tube variations are available in different lengths (6 mm and 12 mm) and may be easily trimmed with scissors or scalpel to adjust for patient-specific needs. Intended Use Indicated for use in the treatment of Otitis Media with Effusion (Glue Ear) following a myringotomy procedure. Maintains patency of the tympanic membrane incision, allowing for equalisation of middle ear pressure and restoration of normal eardrum function. Provides a pathway for drainage of accumulated middle ear effusion, reducing the risk of recurrent infections and hearing loss. Designed for temporary middle ear ventilation until the underlying Eustachian tube dysfunction resolves.
