OverviewThe VR training behind the MetaMedicsVR CNA program: students practice the core skills of long-term care — guided care protocols, feeding, hygiene, mobility, nutrition and medication — with virtual residents, repeating each one until it holds up on a real shift.
Core features- Virtual residents with individual records, capacities and needs
- Guided, step-by-step care protocols displayed on the room screen
- Skills focused on the CNA skill set: feeding, hygiene, mobility, nutrition, medication preparation and administration
- Designed for both single-user and classroom use
What makes it different- Safety and hygiene are built into routines (finding supplies, sanitizing, safe work around residents)
- Mobility practiced without risk — guided range-of-motion and balance exercises to protect resident and caregiver
- Daily-living skills rehearsed step-by-step: feeding, personal care, routine tasks
- Medication preparation practiced in a residence pharmacy context: right med, right dose, right time
How a session runsEvery session follows the same loop — choose, perform, repeat, review.
- Choose: pick the task and workspace (resident room, kitchen, gym, pharmacy) and check the resident record before acting
- Perform: follow on-screen protocol step-by-step (explain procedure, sanitize, position, feed, record), hands on
- Repeat: attempt again immediately; students repeat until the sequence is fluent
- Review: each protocol ends in an evaluation that shows missed steps and instructor-visible readiness
What it covers- A residence full of virtual residents so skills are practiced on a person, not on a checklist
- Mobility and range-of-motion exercises and mobility support rehearsals
- Nutrition and diets: choosing appropriate foods by prescribed diet type, kitchen workflow
Who it’s for- CNA programs at community colleges
- Long-term care facilities and staff onboarding
- Workforce development programs
- Vocational health and social care programs, home care and assisted living training
Technical specifications- Primary training mode: immersive VR with guided on-screen protocols

- Deployment modes: single-user headset sessions and classroom/group sessions
- Learner outcomes: repeated deliberate practice to fluency; instructor-visible evaluations of missed steps
- Media assets: integrated in-app video and on-screen protocol media (used for demonstration and in-simulation prompts)
