The Total Estrogens Double Antibody RIA Kit detects the combined concentrations of unconjugated estradiol (E2) and estrone (E1). Kits are manufactured once per month and have an 8 week shelf life. Product Description The Total Estrogens Double Antibody RIA Kit detects the combined concentrations of unconjugated estradiol (E2) and estrone (E1). It does not detect estrogen sulfates or glucuronides. It will not distinguish between free E1 or E2 or E2 bound to circulating binding proteins. Total Estrogen measurements are an approximation of plasma estrogenicity since E2 is biologically more active than E1 and the E2/E1 ratio may fluctuate widely under varying physiological and pathological conditions.
