DescriptionNOXtec 2000 is a semi-automatic inhaled nitric oxide (NO) delivery and monitoring device. NO is a gaseous vasodilator primarily used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension; NOXtec 2000 delivers a dose that remains stable throughout the therapy and is intended for administration of NO mixed with medical oxygen.
Dosing and controlNOXtec 2000 calculates semi-automatically the dosing flow required to reach the target PPM concentration using a disposable respiratory flow sensor installed in the patient breathing circuit. Alternatively, the dosing flow can be set manually. By continuously sampling the NO‑O2 mixture delivered to the patient, the unit monitors the NO concentration received and verifies compliance with preset threshold values.
Monitoring and safetyThe system also detects and monitors traces of nitrogen dioxide (NO2), a highly toxic gas, to prevent exceeding predefined safety thresholds. NOXtec 2000 can automatically calibrate NO, NO2 and O2 sensors, even during dosing, helping to reduce operational costs. The device is ready for use without requiring a calibration test at startup, enabling rapid commissioning.
Additional safety featuresThe device incorporates automatic purge at treatment start and during cylinder changes to minimize NO2 administration. It provides a purge outlet to collect and channel residual gas. Emergency manual dosing is available even when the device is switched off.
