Description

Overview
NOXtec 1000 is a medical device for controlled delivery and continuous monitoring of inhaled nitric oxide (NO). It provides a stable NO dose throughout therapy, supports automatic cylinder exchange and is designed for administration of NO in a mixture with medical oxygen to treat conditions such as pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Operation
NOXtec 1000 automatically calculates the dosing flow required to reach the target PPM using a disposable respiratory flow sensor placed in the patient breathing circuit. The dose rate can also be set manually. By continuously sampling the delivered NO–O2 mixture, the device monitors the nitric oxide concentration received by the patient and verifies compliance with preset thresholds.

Monitoring and Safety
NOXtec 1000 continuously monitors NO, NO2 and O2 concentrations and detects trace amounts of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) to prevent exceeding safety limits. The system performs automatic calibration of NO, NO2 and O2 sensors, including during dosing, reducing the need for manual calibration. It features automatic venting at treatment start and during cylinder exchange, a purge outlet to collect residual gas, room gas measurement capability and an emergency manual dosing function usable when the device is switched off.

Accessories
  • Cart: carries up to 2 NO–N2 cylinders (10 L or 20 L).
  • Automatic cylinder exchange to extend treatment autonomy and optimize gas use.
  • Consumable patient kits to connect the device to a wide range of ventilators.
  • Swivel wheels for easy movement.

Key points
Ready to use: no calibration test required before starting therapy. Automatic cylinder exchange and automatic calibration reduce operational workload and accelerate therapy start-up. Continuous sampling ensures real-time concentration monitoring and alarm management to support patient safety.
