OverviewBuilt on the compact and lightweight OM SYSTEM mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera, the OM-1 Mark II_IR is a purpose-designed infrared camera system offering high-quality near-infrared imaging for testing, inspection, research and other specialised applications. The system combines the OM SYSTEM camera platform with a magnetic filter kit and software support to enable both infrared and visible-light workflows.
Key features- Infrared camera system based on the OM SYSTEM mirrorless platform for near-infrared imaging.
- High-resolution capture modes including Tripod High Res Shot (RAW/JPEG up to 80 megapixels) and Handheld High Res Shot (RAW/JPEG up to 50 megapixels).
- In-camera image processing and configurable custom modes for quick setup of frequently used settings.
- Magnetic filter mounting system enabling rapid switching between infrared and visible imaging: includes an MRC IR filter (passes infrared; blocks visible) and an MRC UV/IR cut filter (for visible light).
- Designed for both tripod and handheld workflows; continuous power via USB/PD compatible devices supported.
- Webcam compatibility (USB audio/video class) for streaming or capture workflows.
Included / configurable magnetic filter kit- Magnetic MRC IR Filter (blocks visible wavelengths; passes near-infrared).
- Magnetic MRC UV/IR Cut Filter (blocks UV and IR; passes visible spectrum for standard imaging).
- Magnetic lens cap (67 mm in kit example) and magnetic adapter ring for quick attachment.
SoftwareOM Capture for remote camera control and immediate tethered capture. OM Workspace for image viewing, RAW processing and comparison of visible and infrared images. Both applications support infrared workflows and are available as free tools for image review and processing.
Applications- Industrial and manufacturing inspection: wafer, acrylic, glass, mirrored components — reveal details not visible under standard illumination.
- Food industry: foreign object detection, ingredient distribution assessment, product classification and quality control.
- Forensics and investigation: authenticity verification and enhanced evidence analysis via near-infrared imaging.
- Research and cultural heritage: near-infrared observation to reveal inscriptions, underdrawings, soot-covered surfaces, murals and brushstroke analysis.
Downloads and documentationComprehensive user manuals and documentation are available (multiple languages); firmware, LUTs and software resources (OM Capture, OM Workspace) are provided to support capture, processing and colour/workflow management for infrared imaging. Manuals and technical documents are published for the OM-1 Mark II family and related kit components.
