PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen), called prostate specific antigen, is a protein produced by cells in the prostate and is used as a marker for diagnosing prostate cancer, and is generally present in low levels in the blood of normal men. Increased PSA levels are also associated with prostate cancer, but increased levels can also be seen in prostatitis or benign prostatic hyperplasia.
