Description

Product overview
ZorayPT’s bone drill (model ZPT-BDB-001, 10G–11G, 190 mm, customizable) is a precision accessory for creating controlled access channels in vertebral bodies during Percutaneous Vertebroplasty (PVP) and Percutaneous Kyphoplasty (PKP). It features a medical-grade stainless steel threaded distal drilling tip and an ergonomic plastic handle (handle customization available). The device enables accurate pathway creation for balloon placement (PKP) or direct bone cement delivery (PVP) to support percutaneous transpedicular injection of bone cement into fractured vertebrae due to osteoporosis, metastasis, or benign lesions.

Detailed description
The threaded distal tip provides efficient, controlled bone penetration while minimizing surrounding tissue trauma. The ergonomic handle delivers tactile feedback and operational comfort for the operator. Manufactured under ISO 13485-certified processes in a Class 100,000 cleanroom, each unit undergoes strict quality inspection for sharpness, dimensional accuracy and structural integrity. ZorayPT offers full in-house OEM/ODM capabilities to customize gauge, length, tip geometry and handle ergonomics to meet clinical specifications, enabling reduced lead times and consistent production quality.

Key Features
  • Gauge: 10G / 11G (customizable)
  • Length: 190 mm (customizable)
  • Material: Medical-grade SUS 304 / 316L stainless steel (customizable)
  • Tip design: Threaded distal bone drill for controlled penetration
  • Handle: Ergonomic plastic handle; customizable per client drawings
  • Full in-house OEM/ODM production for consistent quality and faster lead times

Applications
  • Percutaneous Vertebroplasty (PVP): bone access for cement stabilization
  • Percutaneous Kyphoplasty (PKP): preparatory drilling before balloon insertion
  • Thoracic and lumbar vertebra procedures within vertebral augmentation kits

How it works / Clinical role
The threaded distal tip drills a precise pathway into the vertebral body, facilitating balloon placement (PKP) to create a cavity prior to cement filling or enabling direct bone cement delivery (PVP). It supports stabilization of fractured vertebrae and assists in restoring vertebral structure when used as part of vertebral augmentation techniques.
