Description

Overview
YuMi® (IRB 14000) is a dual-arm collaborative robot introduced by ABB in 2015, designed for safe side-by-side operation with human workers. It is optimized for short-cycle, high-mix assembly of small parts where adaptability and precision are required.

Human–robot collaboration
YuMi® integrates safety into its design to enable direct cooperation with operators without the need for fences. The dual-arm architecture and integrated padding reduce risk in contact scenarios while allowing shared tasks on the same workpiece.

Key benefits
  • Operate side-by-side: Designed to work alongside or face-to-face with human coworkers on assembly tasks.
  • Grippers with cameras: Servo-driven grippers offer options for built-in cameras for vision-guided handling.
  • Collision-free path: Real-time motion planning algorithms compute collision-free trajectories for each arm.
  • Protects coworkers: External padding and compliant design absorb contact forces to reduce injury risk.

Technical data
Reach: 559 mm
Payload: 500 g
