Desmin is an intermediate filament protein with a molecular weight of 56KD, which is mainly expressed in smooth muscle, skeletal muscle and cardiomyocytes.
Clinical Application
Mainly used in the differential diagnosis of smooth muscle tumors and rhabdomyosarcoma.
At the same time, it is expressed positive in primitive neuroendodermal sinus tumor, Wilms tumor, PNET, and connective proliferative small round cell tumor.
