Description

The FHK total knee replacement with an asymmetrical rotating spaceris a one-of-a-kind prosthesis that comes close to the natural biomechanics of the knee thanks to the medialisation of its centre of rotation. This asymmetrical rotation allows for automatic internal rotation of the tibia during flexion, thereby reducing patellar stresses through kinematic alignment of the extensor apparatus, and in so doing reinforcing its action. The patellar prosthesis exists in two versions: – inlay, – resurfacing. Depending on bone quality, tibial anchoring pins are available in two lengths and two diameters. Instrumentation: For a quick and easy start, FHK Asymmetricuses the same basic instrumentation as the rest of the FHK knee replacement range with a few specific instruments: – an asymmetric spacer impactor, – PE trials – left and right, – asymmetric tibial templates. The FHK instrumentation, in four trays, gives the user freedom for their intraoperative choices: – choosing the cut order, – choosing the femoral reference, – choosing femoral cuts, – choosing the tibial tunnel. Features and materials: – The tibial and femoral implants are made of CoCr (Cobalt Chrome), – The liners are made of UHMWPE polyethylene (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene), – The cementless femoral components compatible with asymmetric FHK receive a T40 titanium spray coating on their inner surface and a hydroxyapatite coating for their secondary fixation.
