Density determination (optional accessory)
With the optional density accessory set it is possible to determine densities of liquids and solids using buoyancy (Archimedes' principle).

• Liquids: measure buoyancy with a glass plummet of known volume immersed in the liquid.
• Solids: weigh the sample in air (A) and in an auxiliary liquid of known density (B). Calculate density: ρ = A/(A-B) × ρ0 where ρ = density of sample, A = weight in air, B = weight in auxiliary liquid, ρ0 = density of the auxiliary liquid.
• Typical applications: packaged goods control (volume calculation from weight and density), materials analysis, density of porous materials.
