Overview
Planmeca ProMax® 2D are complete units for maxillofacial imaging designed for modern 2D panoramic dental imaging needs. The units combine scientific research and technological innovations to deliver a wide variety of 2D panoramic imaging programs and consistent image quality.

Available options
  • Planmeca ProMax® 2D S3 — three-joint (SCARA3) unit designed for panoramic, true extraoral bitewing, TMJ and sinus imaging; includes Autofocus feature that uses a low-dose scout image to automatically position the focal layer.
  • Planmeca ProMax® 2D S2 — two-joint (SCARA2) unit including basic programs for panoramic, extraoral bitewing, TMJ and sinus imaging.

Patient positioning and workflow
The open-face architecture offers an unrestricted view to help accurate patient positioning either via Autofocus (S3) or manually using a triple laser beam system indicating anatomical alignment points. A user-friendly control panel guides the operator with pre-programmed sites and exposure values to streamline imaging procedures.

Image quality and exposure control
The units feature an adjustable focal layer (graphical user interface to select focal layer shape to match patient anatomy) and a digital Dynamic Exposure Control (DEC) that automatically adjusts exposure values per patient based on anatomy and bone density to improve brightness and contrast consistency.
