The construction covers the complete shielding and interior finishing of the 3.0T MRI scanning room, equipment room and supporting auxiliary areas, combining electromagnetic shielding and ionizing radiation protection to meet medical facility requirements.

1. Construction Scope
The project scope includes integrated electromagnetic and ionizing radiation shielding and full interior finish of walls, ceiling, floor, doors, observation windows, pipeline penetrations, HVAC, electrical, lighting, fire protection and security systems for the MRI room and associated spaces.

2. Main Construction Contents & Procedures
2.1 Core Electromagnetic Shielding Works
  • Wall & Ceiling: 304 or 316 stainless steel plates fully welded on all six surfaces (walls, ceiling, floor) to form an integrated Faraday cage with shielding effectiveness ≥90 dB.
  • Shielded Doors: Single- or double-leaf stainless steel electromagnetic shielded doors with conductive sealing strips to ensure gapless electromagnetic connection between door leaf and frame.
  • Shielded Observation Window: Stainless steel mesh shielded observation window installed at the observation position to provide distortion-free viewing while preserving shielding performance.
  • Pipeline Shielding Treatment: All penetrating pipelines (air-conditioning ducts, fire protection pipes, power and signal cables) receive shielding treatment using waveguide windows and waveguide vents to prevent signal leakage.

2.2 Ionizing Radiation Protection Works
According to environmental assessment requirements, lead sheets (≥2.0 mm Pb) or equivalent radiation shielding materials are applied on the inner or outer side of the electromagnetic shielding layer for walls, ceiling and floor to attenuate scattered radiation from MRI equipment.

2.3 Floor Works
  • Floor bearing capacity designed to meet ≥5 kN/㎡ as required by equipment specifications.
  • Anti-static PVC flooring (thickness ≥2 mm) installed to prevent static buildup that could affect sensitive MRI equipment.

2.4 Wall & Ceiling Finishing Works
Environmentally friendly, easy-to-clean color-coated steel panels or aluminum composite panels are used for wall and ceiling finishes to maintain hygiene and aesthetic appearance.

2.5 Air Conditioning & Fresh Air System
  • Precision constant-temperature and humidity air conditioning system to maintain indoor temperature at 20–24 ℃ and relative humidity at 40%–60% for stable MRI operation.
  • Independent fresh air supply system configured to keep indoor air clean and maintain slight positive pressure to prevent outdoor dust ingress.

2.6 Electrical & Lighting System
  • Dedicated stable power supply with high-performance UPS to ensure safe shutdown and continuity during power disturbances.
  • Anti-glare, flicker-free LED purification lighting providing uniform and suitable illumination for clinical use.

2.7 Fire Protection & Security System
  • Fire alarm and gas-based fire suppression systems compliant with medical building codes.
  • Access control and monitoring security systems provided on site.
