Details
Manufactured in compliance with Directive 93/42/EEC for medical devices. Jagged bio-absorbable pins feature rounded, cuttable tips and a serrated thread profile to maximize grip in cancellous and osteochondral fragments. Available diameters: 2.0 mm and 2.7 mm; typical lengths: 40 mm (2.0 mm) and 50 mm (2.7 mm).

Indications

• 2.0 mm Bio Jagged Pin indications: Fixation of small apical fragments (e.g., radial head fractures), patellar rim fractures, proximal/distal metatarsal and metacarpal fractures, osteochondral fractures or dissections (ankle dome, femoral condyle), cancellous fragments or low-load sites such as heel or acetabular chip reconstruction and corticocancellous graft fixation.
• 2.7 mm Bio Jagged Pin indications: Fixation of larger osteochondral fragments including femoral head fractures (Pipkin), malleolar fractures (Weber A), radial shaft fractures and longitudinal patellar fractures.

Material
Made from a biocompatible amorphous copolymer (PLDLA — poly(L-lactide-co-DL-lactide), example composition 70% L / 30% DL). PLDLA provides excellent biocompatibility; hydrolytic degradation yields CO2 and H2O. The implant stabilizes at approximately 8–10 months to support bone healing and is progressively resorbed, with complete bone restoration observed around 24 months.
