OverviewPremisut NYLON suture (Polyamide - Premisut NYLON) is a sterile synthetic monofilament non-absorbable surgical suture prepared from a copolymer of Polyamide 6 and Polyamide 6/6 (Premisut NYLON 6 and Premisut NYLON 6/6). Premisut NYLON suture is available in black and blue dyed forms. The product is supplied sterile for single use and is available in a range of needle configurations and sizes to meet clinical requirements.
Intended use- For general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation
- Includes use in cardiovascular tissues
- Includes use in ophthalmic tissues
- Includes use in neurological tissues
Biocompatibility and in vivo behaviourPremisut NYLON suture elicits a minimal initial inflammatory reaction in tissue which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissue. While Premisut NYLON suture is not absorbed, progressive hydrolysis of the suture in vivo may result in gradual loss of tensile strength over a period of time.
NotesThe technical characteristics may slightly vary or be adjusted depending on the needs of each market (e.g. coating, tensile strength, needle composition, packaging etc). For specific configurations, needle types or regulatory documentation, contact the manufacturer or local distributor.
