OverviewPremisut POLYESTER suture is a sterile, synthetic, multifilament braided and silicone-coated non-absorbable surgical suture manufactured from fine filaments of poly(ethylene terephthalate). The braided construction yields a firm yet flexible suture with excellent knot security. Available undyed or dyed green with D&C Green No.6. Optional PTFE pledgets can be supplied to increase load-bearing area between suture and tissue.
Intended usePremisut POLYESTER is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including applications in cardiovascular, ophthalmic and neurological surgery where a permanent, non-absorbable suture is required.
Product features and behaviour- Braided multifilament structure provides secure knots and good handling.
- Silicone coating improves lubrication for smoother passage through tissue and easier knot tying.
- Soft and pliable for controlled tissue approximation.
- Minimal initial inflammatory response followed by fibrous encapsulation.
- Non-absorbable and resistant to enzymatic degradation or weakening.
- Suitable for use in tissues where low biological reactivity is desired.
- Optional PTFE pledgets available to distribute load and protect tissue.
