IntroductionThe Poultry Infectious bursal disease Virus Antigen Rapid Test is a sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic method for the qualitative detection of infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV Ag) in poultry secretions. Detection time: 5-10 minutes. Sensitivity: 98.3%. Specificity: 97.8%.
Key informationThe test is designed for rapid on-site qualitative detection of IBDV antigen in avian cloacal secretions or bursa of Fabricius samples. The test window contains a T (test) area and a C (control) area; the C band must appear for a valid result. When sufficient antigen is present, a visible T band appears.

Components- Test devices
- Droppers
- Single buffer
- IFU (instructions for use)
PrincipleBased on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic analysis. Sample applied to the sample hole flows laterally across the test strip. If sufficient IBDV antigen is present, a visible T band will appear. The C (control) band should always appear to indicate a valid result. The device accurately indicates presence of infectious bursal disease virus antigen in the sample.
Storage and stabilityStore kit at 2-30°C. The test kit remains stable until the expiration date marked on the package label (18 months). DO NOT FREEZE. Do not store the test kit in direct sunlight.
Test procedure- Collect fresh whole blood and obtain serum or plasma specimen. Apply testing immediately after collection.
- Take out the test device from the foil pouch and place it horizontally.
- Place 2-3 drops (around 70-100 µL) of serum or plasma specimen into the sample hole. Start timer and wait for result.
- Interpret result in 5-10 minutes. Result after 15 minutes is considered invalid.
InterpretationThe control band (C) must appear for the test to be valid. If both C and T bands appear, the sample is positive for IBDV antigen; if only C appears, the sample is negative. If C does not appear, the result is invalid.
