Product OverviewThe High Accuracy Detect oral fluid Multi-Drug Rapid Test Cup is a qualitative, visual immunoassay for the detection of drugs of abuse in human saliva. Designed for point-of-care use by healthcare professionals, the device provides rapid screening to assist in clinical and compliance evaluations.
PrincipleThe assay uses colored antibody conjugates on internal test strips. When the specimen migrates along the membrane, free drug molecules in the sample compete with immobilized drug conjugates for binding sites on the antibody-coloured particles. If drug concentration is below the cut-off, the antibody complex binds to immobilized conjugates producing a visible band at the test region (negative). When drug levels exceed the cut-off, formation of the test band is inhibited (positive). A control band must appear to validate the test.
Detected drugs and cut-off concentrations (ng/mL)- Amphetamine (AMP) - 50
- Benzodiazepine (BZO) - 10
- Barbiturate (BAR) - 50
- Cocaine (COC) - 20
- Methamphetamine (MET) - 50
- Opiates (OPI) - 40
- Phencyclidine (PCP) - 10
- Propoxyphene (PPX) - 50
- Marijuana (THC) - 50
- Oxycodone (OXY) - 40
- Ketamine (KET) - 50
- Buprenorphine (BUP) - 5
- Cotinine (COT) - 50
- Methadone metabolite (EDDP) - 20
- 6-Monoacetylmorphine (6-MAM) - 25
- Ecstasy (MDMA) - 50
- Methadone (MTD) - 30
- Tramadol (TML) - 50
- Synthetic cannabis (K2) - 50
Usage / Collection and Testing Instructions- Bring tests and specimens to room temperature (15-30°C) before use.
- Avoid placing anything in the mouth (food, drink, gum, tobacco) for at least 10 minutes prior to collection.
- Collect oral fluid only with the collector provided; do not use other devices.
- Using the provided swab, sweep the inside of the mouth (cheek, gums, tongue) several times. The sponge will soften as it absorbs oral fluid and should be fully soft after ~3 minutes. Do not bite, suck, or chew the sponge.
- Insert the swab sponge-first into the screening cup and push until the locking flange engages at the bottom of the cup.
- Keep the test cup upright on a flat surface while the test runs. Read results at 10 minutes.
Result Interpretation- POSITIVE: Only the control band (C) appears. No band at the test region (T) — indicates drug concentration exceeds the cut-off.
- NEGATIVE: Two bands appear — one at control (C) and one at test (T) — indicates drug concentration is below the cut-off.
- INVALID: No control band. Discard results and repeat test with a new device.
Intended UseFor qualitative, visual screening of drugs of abuse in oral fluid. Intended for use by healthcare professionals at point-of-care locations to assist in determination of drug use or compliance; not for definitive confirmation.
