A perfect finish: Efficient and gentle polishing for unique ceramic restorations
Precise polishing of the ceramic surface is of crucial importance. A typical example: monolithic restorations (high strength). It has been shown that it is not the hardness of the ceramic that determines the abrasion behavior on the antagonist, but the surface roughness. In simple terms: the smoother the surface, the lower the abrasion.
Komet’s two-stage polishing system meets this requirement and also contributes to greater economic efficiency. The diamond polishers with a blue working part for pre-polishing and a gray working part for high-gloss polishing enable efficient polishing thanks to their smooth texture.
In addition, a three-stage polishing system is available to create a high-gloss, dense surface structure. The portfolio is supplemented by flexible polishing spirals that adapt to almost any anatomical surface. Their lamellar structure enables quick high-shine polishing of occlusal and proximal areas as well as sensitive marginal regions.
Finally, a variety of different brushes and cotton buffs are available for final polishing. These tools gently yet thoroughly polish the surface to achieve the desired finish.
