Description

VAC-V1 (EX) Gas Permeability Tester is a differential-pressure based instrument designed to determine gas transmission rates and related permeability properties of common gases as well as toxic, flammable or explosive gases for films, composite films, high-barrier materials, sheeting and foils across varied temperatures.

Product Features
  • The tester uses Labthink's split control design with complete separation between the mainframe and control module to ensure testing safety.
  • Suitable for gas permeability tests of flammable, explosive or toxic gases.
  • Simultaneous determination of gas transmission rate, permeability coefficient, solubility coefficient and diffusion coefficient.
  • Wide-range, high-precision liquid circulation temperature controller supports tests under different conditions.
  • Dual test process judgement modes available: Proportional Mode and Fuzzy Mode.
  • Test range can be extended to satisfy high-permeability material requirements.
  • Data fitting at arbitrary temperatures; test results for extreme conditions can be obtained.
  • PC-controlled automatic testing process.
  • Reference film available for rapid calibration to ensure accuracy and versatility of test data.
  • Equipped with RS232 universal data port for convenient data transfer.
  • Compatible with Lystem™ Lab Data Sharing System for unified management of test results and reports.

Principle
VAC-V1 (EX) is based on the differential-pressure method: a pre-conditioned sample is clamped between an upper (higher pressure) and a lower (lower pressure) chamber; after evacuating the lower chamber and system, a test gas at a set pressure is introduced to the higher chamber, creating a constant pressure difference. Gas permeates through the sample into the low-pressure chamber and permeability properties are determined by monitoring pressure changes in the lower chamber.

Standards
  • Conforms to: ISO 15105-1, ISO 2556, GB/T 1038-2000, ASTM D1434, JIS K7126-1 and YBB 00082003.

Applications
  • Films
  • Includes plastic films, plastic composite films, paper-plastic composite films, coextruded films, aluminized films, aluminum foils, aluminum-foil composite films, etc.
  • Sheeting
  • Includes engineering plastics, rubber, building-material sheeting (e.g. PP, PVC, PVDC sheeting).
  • Various Gases
  • O2, CO2, N2, CH4, H2, Air, He and other gases (test gas supply outside scope of delivery).
  • Inflammable, Explosive and Poisonous Gases
