Description

VAC-V2 (EX) Gas Permeability Tester is a differential-pressure instrument designed to determine gas transmission rate and to derive permeability, solubility and diffusion coefficients for films, composite films, high-barrier materials, sheeting and aluminum foils at varied temperatures. It is suitable for common gases as well as toxic, flammable or explosive gases.

Principle
  • The instrument uses the differential-pressure method: a pre-conditioned sample is clamped between an upper testing chamber (higher pressure) and a lower testing chamber (evacuated). After evacuating the lower chamber and system, the upper chamber is flushed with test gas to establish a constant adjustable pressure difference. Gas permeates through the sample into the low-pressure chamber and permeability parameters are obtained by monitoring pressure changes in the lower chamber.
