Combines the components of Alcian Blue and Periodic Acid–Schiff (PAS) stain kits for histological special staining in clinical and research pathology laboratories.

Details
  • Alcian Blue is typically prepared at acidic pH 2.5 to detect acidic mucopolysaccharides and sulfated mucins.
  • PAS staining highlights structures with high carbohydrate content (glycogen, glycoproteins, proteoglycans) commonly present in connective tissue, mucus and basement membranes.
