Overview
The Planmeca Romexis® CMF Surgery module is a software module for planning orthognathic (CMF) surgery. It enables integration of patient CBCT/DICOM imaging and intraoral scans within a single environment, case evaluation, and export of planning outputs for manufacturing and documentation.

Intuitive osteotomy planning
Guided, step-by-step osteotomy planning supports precise creation and review of osteotomy lines. Supported osteotomy options include:

Smarter workflows using AI
Built-in AI features automate tasks such as jaw segmentation and CBCT–intraoral scan merging to reduce manual pre-planning work and accelerate the CMF planning workflow.

Step-by-step guidance
The module includes a workflow wizard that guides clinicians through orthognathic planning from case setup to finalization, with embedded tutorial GIFs and links to full online tutorials.

Enhanced patient communication
Soft tissue simulation tools allow visualization of potential soft tissue changes resulting from virtual jaw movements to support patient consultations (note: actual outcomes depend on multiple clinical factors).

Dynamic measurements and analysis
The module supports 3D cephalometric analysis and dynamic tracking of anatomical landmarks and measurements while simulating surgical options.

Creating intermediate and final splints
After completing a virtual plan, intermediate and final splints can be designed and exported in STL format for manufacturing. Note: splint design is not available in the Romexis CMF Surgery US version.

Treatment planning reports
Users can generate PDF treatment planning reports including clinic and patient details, treatment plan notes and rendered images with a single click.

Supported data & interoperability
Romexis CMF Surgery captures CBCT/DICOM images and intraoral scans in the same platform, supports PACS connectivity, and provides STL/PDF export options for splints and reports.
