Screen Vet Ehrlichia Rapid Cassette Test is based on lateral flow immunochromatographic examination. The cassette has a test window. The window includes an invisible T (test) line and a C (control) line. When the sample is poured onto the sample well on the cassette, the liquid flows sideways over the surface of the test strip. If there is a sufficient amount of Ehrlichia Canis antibodies in the collected sample, a visible line will appear near the T line. The C line should always appear after the sample has been poured, indicating that the result is valid. In this way the cassette can accurately indicate the presence of Ehrlichia Canis antibodies in the sample.
