Description

Product Overview
This device detects surface contamination on hands and feet, supports external probe connection and enables separate, simultaneous measurement of alpha and beta radiation to help prevent internal contamination from uptake. It is designed for use in clinical departments handling ionizing radiation where rapid, documented checks of personnel and surfaces are required.

Key Features
  • Separate detection of alpha and beta radiation
  • Two detectors for feet and two detectors for hands
  • Automatic storage of each measurement; data export via USB flash drive
  • Graphical, color-coded display of contamination distribution on hands and feet
  • Editable surveyor/operator database for traceability
  • External probe connection for extended or localized measurements

Technical Specifications
  • Detector type: scintillator detector
  • Number of detectors: 2 (feet) + 2 (hands)
  • Units of measurement: Bq/cm², CPS
  • Detection limit: α: 0.04 Bq/cm² (α/β type); β: 0.4 Bq/cm²
  • Detection efficiency: α (Pu-236): hand ≥35%, foot ≥30%; β (90Sr-Y90): hand ≥35%, foot ≥30%
  • Data storage: automatic; exportable via USB flash drive
  • Display: graphical contamination map with color coding

Application Fields
  • Radiology departments: Use for contamination checks after imaging and interventional procedures involving X-rays, gamma rays and other ionizing radiation.
  • Radiation oncology departments: Verify absence of residual surface contamination following therapeutic procedures using alpha, beta or other radiation sources.
  • Nuclear medicine departments: Monitor personnel and surfaces after handling radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.
