OverviewThrough the combination of computer imaging and the patient’s own CT scan, a patient-specific preoperative plan is developed. Implant sizing and alignment are determined using the patient’s unobstructed anatomic landmarks and the surgeon’s preferences. Prophecy guides are then created which set resection guide locations, reducing intraoperative steps to simplify surgery.
Key benefits- Patient-specific preoperative planning based on the patient’s CT scan
- Improved alignment accuracy and reduction of intraoperative and fluoroscopic steps
- Patient-specific high-resolution nylon guides produced by 3D printing
CompatibilityProphecy is compatible with Stryker’s Infinity, Inbone and Invision total ankle implants, supporting low profile primaries, complex deformities, and revisions.
The Prophecy process- 1. The patient receives a CT following the Prophecy CT scan protocol.
- 2. A preoperative plan is generated from the CT according to surgeon preferences.
- 3. The preoperative plan is approved by the surgeon through the Prophecy website (the plan may be altered if desired).
- 4. A 3D printing machine produces patient-specific high-resolution nylon guides, which are then sent out for surgery.
- 5. Surgery is performed in accordance with the preoperative plan.
Prophecy guide options and features- Prophecy pin-through: surface match technology; de-coupled tibia and talar cut; guide placement and resection performed separately.
- Prophecy resect-through: surface match technology; one guide utilized for both pinning and resecting the Infinity Total Ankle to reduce operating time; corner pegs to protect against notching; option to couple talar alignment.
Software and digital tools- Prophecy 3D Planner: allows the surgeon to review, edit, and simulate their Prophecy plan in real time (available for US only).
- Prophecy 3D Viewer: allows surgeons to view their Prophecy plan in 3D on a desktop or iPad (available in countries where Prophecy is available).
- Prophecy Footprint™ Surgical Planning: an add-on service providing a more comprehensive view of the foot around the ankle for complex patients and planning ancillary procedures.
Clinical evidence / outcomesExhibiting a history of innovation and clinical success: Prophecy guides increase alignment accuracy while reducing surgical and fluoroscopic steps. Reported metrics shown on the product page include reduced operative time, achievable post-op neutral alignment, and reductions in operative cost per case.
